Spring 1997 saw the merger of Brixham and Devonia AC . Initially the club opted for the name Brixham and Devonia AC before choosing the current name South Devon AC later in the year. A club competition produced the yellow and blue vest designed by Adam Nott. The club colours remain unchanged since then.
