Chairman's Charity 2016 and 2015

At SDAC's AGM on Thursday, 24th November, Rev Paula Mayer was presented with a cheque from SDAC for £511.00 for The Haven, a registered charity based in Paignton which supports homeless people.

South Devon Athletic Club also presented George and Sarah Osborne, from The Williams Foundation, with a cheque for £1404.20 after fundraising for the foundation as their chosen charity in 2015. Williams Syndrome is a rare congenital disorder that occurs randomly affecting around one in 18,000 people in the UK. The foundationactively supports research into the educational, behavioural, social, scientific and medical aspects of the Syndrome.

South Devon Athletic Club raised the money in a variety of ways. They held quiz nights, raffles and cake stalls. To accompany this various members have raised money via sponsorship for running from 10K up to full Marathons. During the Coleton Footachre, the race the club organises at Coleton Fishacre in June, more money was raised with lots more baking.
