On Thursday 7th September South Devon AC held their club mile, grand prix race, organised by club coach Alan Sloman. It was a windy evening on Paignton Green with a fantastic turnout of 42 runners.
Results for race one:-Dave Hampton set off in his usual front running style finishing with a PB of 4.47. He was followed home by Michelle Cowley in a record time of 5.12 another PB. Third home Colin Peters in 5.34, next Marc Walpot in 5.44 PB, Rod Keen 5.52, Marc Jones 6.01, Vince Langdon 6.03. Guest runner Emma McGee 6.24. New to the club Howard Brugge 6.26, the ever youthful Keith Belt in 6.28, Kerry Bell 6.43, Sue Hayes 6.47 PB, Stuart Reece 7.09 and City to Sea runner Karen Bumby 7.13 equalling her PB of 2015.
Results for race two:-Helen Tully a guest runner set off at a good pace only to be overtaken by Guy Henderson on the last lap, Guy had obviously warmed up on Sunday by doing the City to Sea 34 miles, his mile time was 6.52 PB, Helen 6.58. They were followed home by Val Mcclean in 7.03, Neil Hayes 7.05, Michelle Coles 7.10, Anita Carpenter 7.17, Mark Holman 7.20, John Drennan 7.24, Roger Webb 7.27, Marina Blay 7.28, Liz Lee 7.39.
Results for race three:-Liam Lindon set off like a scalded cat, out on his own and coming home in 5.03. Lorraine Henderson followed in 7.19 after her City to Sea 34 miler on Sunday. Craig Wood next 7.25, Claire Cornish 7.31, Sue Ennalls 7.33, Sharon Pascoe 7.34, Heather Coverdale 7.41, Tracy Elford 7.43, Steph Bartlett 7.49, Andrea Wall 7.50, Dave Cubberley 7.52, Heather Maddock 7.59, Christine Walpot 9.25, Brenda Grant 9.49, guest runner Christy Farah 10.21 and Gareth Bevan 13.38.
