The Grizzly - 18th March 2018
The renowned Grizzly 20 mile off road race and the shorter 10 mile Cub run were in jeopardy due to the snowy weather conditions. The organisers Axe Valley Runners have done a sterling job with the event over the years and were loath to cancel as the Grizzly spirit is all about running in tough off-road conditions.
The organisers decided to put all competitors onto the shorter 10 mile route to ensure marshals were not on the course for too long and to remove some of the tougher sections of the 20 mile course, sadly even the bog was removed for safety reasons but the beach run at the start was included!
The vast majority of competitors wanted to take part despite the weather and the mood on the start line was energetic and positive.
