Congratulations to SDAC Juniors at the 2018 Pearson Cup

Pearson Cup 2018 Report

On Sunday 1st July 19 SDAC junior athletes travelled the short distance to Torre Valley North, Torquay - the home of Torbay Athletic Club who were hosting this year's Pearson Cup.

The day started with heavy showers which threatened to persist throughout the day. However, 19 hardy juniors (and their parents) waited it out and were rewarded by the clouds clearing at 12.30 and the sun began to shine. The 30 minute delayed start timely perfectly and the days athletics got underway.

Notable performances included the following -

Overall Best Under 10 Boy Award to Ben Hardwick

Overall Best Under 11 Girl Award to Bess Hazel

Under 11 Girls Relay - May Battye, Lizzie Bumby, Connie Mercer & Bess Hazel

Individual medals were won by - Connie Mercer, Oscar Mytton, Ben Hardwick, Bess Hazel, May Battye, Harry Clayton, Evie Rowe, Hannah Carr & Mia Taylor.

Spirited performances were also seen from Jack Simcox, Edie Cornish, Billy Bartlett, Lauren Carr, Alfie Harris, Blake Bevan, James Waddell, Robert Hayes & Thomas Hart.

By the end of the day SDAC juniors had won 254 points and retained 2nd place ahead of Dartmouth in 3rd & Newton Abbot in 4th - Torbay AC once again taking 1st place.
