Another great weekend of running for South Devon AC with parkruns to ultras conquered!
Heather Maddock and Steph Bartlett ran the Race to the Stones 100km which follows The Ridgeway and is lined with Bronze Age hill forts, Neolithic burial chambers and Roman river crossings. Stepping in the same footsteps as travellers who lived over 5,000 years ago Heather had a great race taking 3rd V60 female with an amazing performance.
Saturday was the next race in the club Grand Prix at the Haytor Heller which is a challenging course but as expected by a Teignbridge Trotters race well organised and great fun. Liam Lindon and Michelle Cowley were first back for the club with the men’s team of Liam Lindon, Alex Magee, Colin Peters and Anthony Waters successfully defending the men’s team title from last year. The ladies team of Michelle Cowley, Dani Waters, Laura Ashworth and Rachel Irish took third place ladies team.
Elsewhere there was local parkruns and several club members enjoying some parkrun tourism.
In the juniors Lauren Carr was third overall and first female at Decoy Lake trail 2km and then competed at the Devon Open at Tavistock along with Hannah Carr and Evie Rowe. All three girls trying new events with a great all-round performance.
Last but not least Guy and Lorraine Henderson ran the 18 mile Blackdown Beauty which is an “At your own risk” social run organised by Honiton RC
