Results - week ending 6th October 2019
It was a very successful weekend at Bournemouth Marathon Festival for South Devon AC runners both seniors and juniors with nearly everyone recording PB’s. For the marathon it was a lovely sunny day and despite the headwind along some of the seafront sections Alex Magee was first back for the club in a brilliant 3:13:04. Stuart Batten and Michelle Coles both recorded PB’s with Michelle taking a massive thirty-one minutes of her previous marathon time. Jon Hiscoke was running his first marathon and his dedication to training paid off as he finished in 3:42:19 – a great time for a first marathon, well done Jon! Also at the festival were juniors Lauren and Hannah Carr and both ran in the Juniors 2K race. They both placed really well out of a field of 321 runners and both recorded PB’s!
Closer to home Marc Jones ran the Dartmoor 3 in 1 which is three races featuring five, four and three Tors. The quicker you finish the more rest you have between races – Marc finished in a cumulative time of 4:26:41.
Sunday saw Richard Jarvis running the Plymouth Ocean City 10K in a great time of 46:09 and with plenty of SDAC runners both senior and junior at our local parkruns it was a great weekend of racing for the club!
