Results - week ending 24th November 2019
It was the end of an era on Thursday for South Devon AC with Alan Sloman and his team running their last winter 3K before handing over to a new team. Alan has been running the 3K winter series of five races for thirteen years – a fantastic contribution to the club. Thirty six club members ran the 3K which was as well organised as ever – many thanks to Alan and his team for their efforts.
Saturday was Parkrun day with Dave Cubberley making the pilgrimage to Bushy Park which is the birthplace of Parkrun and Marc Jones running his 50th Parkrun at Torbay.
Sunday was the penultimate race in the SDAC Grand Prix series with the Bicton Blister. Although the weather was kind the course was very wet, muddy and hilly – an ideal Cross Country! Alex Magee and Dani Waters were first male and female back for the club and Lorraine Henderson won 2nd in her age category, well done all.
On Tuesday five SDAC juniors headed to the track at Exeter to run the 3K race and the mile race for U11. Some great times recorded with Lauren Carr fastest for the club in the 3K with 12:26 and Daisy McKenna running a fantastic 6:39 for the mile race.
Hannah and Lauren Carr ran Haldon Parkrun and Hannah and Lizzie Bumby ran the Trust Coleton race on Sunday.
