For their first marathon most people pick a flatter course, but South Devon AC member Liam Lindon decided on the South Devon marathon at Beesands in tribute to a family member. The course is picturesque and punishing with a rating of severe! With its blend of jagged rocks interspersed with idyllic sandy coves this area of coastline is beautiful and hugely inspiring. Despite coming back from injury and the bonus miles over 26.2 Liam finished 89th in 6:55:12.
The previous weekend was the South West Cross Country and SDAC had three runners in the Vets category enjoying the wet and muddy 6km course at Sidford.
At the 3rd Indoor Devon Sportshall league held at Plymouth, SDAC took a small but committed team to compete against the local athletics clubs in Devon. All members of the eight strong team scored points and SDAC secured 10 podium finishes which is fantastic, well done team!
