City to Sea Marathon 3rd Sept 2023

Two South Devon AC members tackled the the gruelling City to Sea marathon race in scorching heat on Sunday.

The course took runners from Exeter to Babbacombe Downs. The first sections down the Exe Estuary and along the sea wall from Dawlish Warren to Teingmouth are largely flat.

But the hard work really started there after at Shaldon where you follow the coastal paths many ups and downs to the finish at Babbacombe.

Shaun Kirk came in first for SDAC in 46th place overall in a time of 5h 15m 24s while Neil Jordan was 100th overall in a time of 6h 38m there were 175 entrants in the Marathon and 105 in the half marathon which started at Dawlish Warren and followed the same course.
