Juniors Results - w/e 31st July 2022

On a pleasant summers evening at Exeter arena, Tuesday 26th July, 4 South Devon athletes took part in the latest Open event.

Lauren stayed on the track and for her endeavours won the Under 17F 80m hurdles, knocking 0.6 of a second off her PB to complete in 12:76.  Once the hurdles were removed she took on the 200m sprint and finished 4th, taking 2 seconds off her pb to drop it to 28:69.  Great running Lauren!

Our other three athletes mixed track and field as they took to competition. Hannah, U17F, ran a tidy 200m, took the bend well & stayed strong to the line to finish 6th,  with a new PB of 31:26. Awesome! In shot put she recorded three good throws with her longest being 6:41m to finish off a solid performance.

Rowan, U13B, favoured the high jump and in great fashion secured 1st place with a new PB of 1:35 - great achievement for Rowan as he had been so close in the last competition to nailing this height.  Rowan then switched to the track and powered home, winning the 200m race in a tidy 30:19, also a PB - Go you!

Oscar, after a super weekend of athletics took on the javelin and  threw a mighty 30:76m  to secure 1st place and new PB by over 3 meters. Then, in only his third competitive 75m hurdles race and first season of hurdling, ran a cool 15:34 to win his age category.  Nice one Oscar!

At the 5k Velopark Parkrun Saturday, Hannah ran 23:29 for a new PB and at Sundays 2k junior parkrun, Chris Tarver supported his younger sister, Grace who is 4,  to finish in 19:19 - great running!
