The Muddy Duck 10K is hosted by Plymstock Road Runners in Plymouth, although the run proved to be dusty rather than muddy due to the great weather we have been enjoying recently.

Eight South Devon Athletic Club runners traded in their Saturday evening to compete in the race with Stuart Batten being the first of the club runners home in 8th place in a field of 123, with a time of 43:05 and finishing 2nd in his age category. Closely followed home by Kevin Ashworth (11th in 44:46 and 1st in age category), Colin Peters (13th in 45:22 and 2nd age category), Vince Langdon (22nd in 48:23), Jon Hiscoke (26thin 49:29), Dani Waters (37th in 52:57 and 1st in age category and 3rd overall female), Laura Ashworth (46th in 56:50 and 3rd in age category) and Michelle Coles (92nd in 1:08:26). Some amazing performances all round by our runners.

The SDAC Juniors also managed to successfully retain the Pearson Cup which they won in 2019 (no 2020 or 2021 competitions were held due to Covid). There were awesome performances by all our under 10s, 11s and 13s who took part in a team of 30 juniors. A full report to follow but a fantastic achievement.

Last but least, George Holman represented SDAC in Wales and managed to complete the Snowdonia Ultra Marathon in 09:58:20 with just over 7000 of elevation gain throughout the course, Incredible. Well done, George.

This weekend will see SDAC runners attack the Chudleigh Carnival Race and the infamous Haytor Heller, reports to follow next week
