Results - w/e 12th September 2021
A busy weekend of running for South Devon AC runners with lots of races and Parkruns home and away. Sunday saw the return of Torbay half marathon and there was a good team from SDAC and some great running. First back for the club in a fantastic time of 1:23:46 was Harry Harrison in 19th place and second in his age category. There were PB’s from Jon Hiscoke and Neil Jordain among many others with some notching up their first half marathon. As well as the half there was also a 10Km race which Keith Belt ran once again wining his age category – all times are gun times as it is a Grand Prix race.
On Saturday Claire Cornish opted for the much hillier Total Coastal half marathon along the coast path from Paignton to Shaldon and had a great run finishing third female. Matthew Dalton opted for the Total Coastal Ultra (Kingswear to Shaldon) finishing in sixth place and then rounded off the weekend running the CapTEN fell race.
Among the parkru tourists there was a big 5km PB for Dani Waters at Cardiff parkrun where her and Antony raced with Steve Wright competing at Victoria Dock parkrun.
Steve Carr, Hannah Carr, Lauren Carr and Vince Langdon all flew the flag for SDAC at Braunton Open meeting all putting in great performances in track and field events. It was the last Open meet this year but will resume next year and all SDAC members can join in and do three events – relive your school sports day!
