South Devon Athletic Club had 4 members competing at this year’s Edinburgh Marathon, the race continues to grow in popularity and in terms of participant numbers is already the largest marathon in Scotland and the second largest in the whole of the UK.
The Edinburgh marathon course is relatively flat and is always well supported by large crowds lining the route to cheer on the participants, making this a very popular marathon with both professional and amateur athletes.
Starting at Potterrow, in the grounds of Edinburgh University the route takes in many of the city's iconic sights, including The National Museum of Scotland, Greyfriars Bobby, The Scottish National Gallery, Princes Street Gardens, the Scott Monument, Royal Mile and the Scottish Parliament. The final stretch is along the coastline leading to the finish line at Pinkie St Peter's Primary School in Musselburgh.
A huge well done to all our runners for finishing the marathon, particularly Stuart who yet again turned out a wonderful time to continue his strong recent record.
881 Stuart Batten 03:20:43, 3689 Anthony Waters 04:06:11, 3937 Dani Waters 04:09:59, 5022 Michelle Coles 04:26:14
